Description

TRICOLOR VIOLET/WILD PANSY

The violet is useful for skin conditions such as eczema or rashes. Respiratory conditions can also be treated with the wild pansy. The plant contains saponins, a substance that helps dissolve mucus. Furthermore, the flower is used for rheumatism, gout, constipation, bladder and kidney diseases, bed-wetting, and incontinence. It has blood-purifying and anti-inflammatory properties, is full of salicylic acid, and is therefore very suitable for use in skin problems such as acne. The presence of salicylic acid also gives the herb mild pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.

Usage:
General use: Let steep for 5 – 7 minutes, then remove the herbs.
Recipes for acne: It is best to make tea from the flowers and stems for your skin. For an optimal effect, it is recommended to add horsetail. If you cannot find this, you can also make the tea without it. It is better to use home-grown violets instead of flowers from garden centers, supermarkets, and hardware stores. This way, you can be sure that no harmful substances have been added.
Ingredients:
20 g dried aerial parts of wild pansy (flowers and stems)
1/2 l water
Instructions:
Let the flowers steep in water for 2 hours.
Then bring to a gentle boil and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Remove from heat and let it steep in the hot water for another 10 minutes.
Filter and the tea is ready.
Drink about 3 cups of this tea per day for a few weeks for inflamed or impure skin.

Note: The substance saponin can cause nausea, so do not overdo the dose.

Warning:
It is not recommended to use violets with young children when they are having a fever or a virus infection to decrease the risk of getting Reye syndrome.
